Binaural beats are created from two different continuous tones, which when sent separately to each ear create a single beat inside your head. Isochronic tones are basically a single tone which is switched on and off at regular intervals. Imagine a single continuous tone playing on a stereo system and you’ve got your hand on the volume switch. Then once per second, you turn the volume off for half a second and keep doing that every second. For half a second the volume is off, for the other half a beat waveform is formed. The beat is cycling once per second per second, i.e. at a rate of 1Hz.

Stress also influences behaviors that affect health. Diet choices, sleep habits, and drug use are behaviors that are often negatively affected by stress (3). The APA’s 2011 survey showed that 39% percent of respondents reported overeating or eating unhealthy food because of stress, and 29% reported skipping a meal (3). In addition, 44% reported lying awake at night because of stress (3). On a positive note, 47% of respondents reported walking or exercise as a way of managing stress (3).
I’ve been interested in brain wave entrainment for a few years now. In fact, I purchased a program about 7 months ago. After reading your review, I wished I had purchased this one instead. I was diagnosed with “acute high anxiety, major clinical depression,and ptsd” 16 years ago. I have clinically addressed these disorders with a number of medications, which none have helped. I am so lucky I have found this simple easy to practice method of practice, that I have found these beats and tones so essential that I indoctrinated them into my daily life, and have come to the realization, that someday very soon I will awake and will not suffer from these burdens these disorders ever again.
To further illustrate how brainwave entrainment enhances your meditation practice, here is an explanation. When an experienced and advanced meditator is hooked into equipment that reads their brainwave patterns, it is most common for their brain to move from whatever state they are in before they meditate (normally a Beta or higher Alpha state) slowly down into a deep Theta rhythm. Very advanced meditators are able to bring their brain all the way into a Delta state, which is most normally where deep sleep occurs. To be able to bring the brain into these deep brainwave states through the process of meditation can take years of meditative practice, and lots of discipline.

The mind is also very open to positive suggestions during this state.
Some research suggests that the benefits from brainwave entrainment can last a lot longer, and still be seen for some time after you've stopped using it. Study participants have still maintained improved test scores a few weeks after the stimulation had ceased. Research on the long-term benefits has so far been minimal though, so how long the effects last is still up for debate.
