Words could be great stress relievers. One technique to quell sudden stress is to repeat a phrase from which you draw power and strength. “Think positively about releasing what is bothering you by repeating a positive mantra that uplifts you such as, ‘I am at peace,’ ‘All is well,’ ‘I choose to think thoughts that serve me,’ or ‘I love and believe in myself fully,’” says Carol Whitaker, life transformation expert and the author of Ridiculously Happy! The Secret to Manifesting the Life and Body of Your Dreams. “This too shall pass” is another good one. Repeating a mantra is actually a type of meditation that can make you more resilient to stress—some studies show it can actually alter your brain’s neural pathways. You can place reminders of your mantras near the places you tend to get stressed, like your work space. “I actually keep a file on my computer of great quotes and inspiring sayings. So when I’m feeling overwhelmed by life’s struggles, I clip them to my screensaver, post them on my social media, and even print them out to put on my refrigerator or desk,” Dr. Serani says.
Theta brainwaves are produced and associated with states of deep relaxation and meditation. They are also associated with the state of lucid dreaming and NREM sleep. In Theta creative inspiration and enhanced powers of visualization also come. The state of deep relaxation combined with the state where the mind is better attuned to absorbing knowledge, hence it brings the super learning state. Theta is incredibly good for stress relief and release too.
Gamma brainwaves aren’t just limited to helping you get into the zone; they also act as a natural anti-depressant. With regular production, these brainwaves can help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, while improving happiness. People who meditate often not only achieve a higher level of compassion due to the increased production of Gamma brainwaves, it also creates the environment for a happy life.
This paper describes an arts-science collaborative project titled Standing Waves, which creatively entwines data drawn from the rhythms of the body in sleep/wake cycles with sensor-based technology for synaesthetic performance. The project partners situate their practice and research in the fields of choreography/dance, sleep science and media art and design. Our work explores how the ... [Show full abstract]View full-text
For a few minutes a day, practice being mindful—focusing only on what's going on in the present —whether it's during your workout or taking a break from your work. Try taking a short walk and instead of thinking about what's worrying you, pay attention to your senses—what you see, feel, hear, smell. This can make a huge difference in your emotional and physical well-being when done daily.

All brainwave frequencies are useful and beneficial at certain times – there is no brainwave that is intrinsically better than another. However, by deliberately choosing to attain a particular brainwave state, a corresponding mental state can be brought about at the same time. For example, a working person who has been in an overly alert beta brainwave pattern for many hours can quickly shift their mind and body into a relaxed state by listening to a few minutes of brainwave entrainment music for inducing alpha or theta brainwaves.
These days it doesn't take much to stress people out. Being on edge just from living in the fast paced modern world is often enough to put people precariously close to panic and anxiety attacks, insomnia and bad eating habits. These side effects of stress can combine to cause short and long-term complications if someone doesn't regulate their stress levels. If you are looking for a natural, non-pharmaceutical way to reduce stress, consider brainwave entrainment.
Isochronic tones have only been proven to have an effect while you are listening to them, that’s why you won’t find me claiming anywhere that there are potentially positive long-term effects. Once the tones stop, your brainwaves are no longer being stimulated by the sound and so they stop being in sync with the tone frequency. For you to think you are still feeling the effects after all this time and from such a short time listening to them, I think it may be linked to anxiety. I know that some people who are new to this type of thing can build up a strong feeling of anxiety, after worrying about the potential effects brought on by fear of the unknown. I suspect the problem may be psychological with you worrying about the potential effects and keep repeating the experience from memory in your head. When you keep going over the same thing in your head like that and worrying about it, it’s easy to then spot other potential side-effects like how your nostrils and body temp is feeling, then making links back to that experience and labelling that as the reason. I think the best way to overcome this is to realise that the side-effects you are mentioning are completely unrelated, so there is nothing to worry about. These tracks are literally listened to for millions of hours a month on YouTube across loads of channels. If the effects lasted for a long time people would just listen for 5 minutes and come back in a couple of weeks. But people keep coming back to listen because that’s the only way to feel the benefit and effects…while you are listening to them. If you are unable to stop thinking and worrying about this on our own, I recommend that you speak to your doctor about it or a specialist in dealing with anxiety issues. I hope that helps.
However, you can give yourself all of the nutrition of the produce in a very easy to drink package. This leaves you feeling light and energetic and gives your body a chance to digest the food quickly. It lets your body extract more vitamins and minerals from the juices you’re drinking, and your body’s demand for food goes down. You won’t feel hungry, and you won’t continually be looking for a snack or meal. You’ll just feel the rush of energy and healing properties from the fruits and vegetables.

Proceedings of the 9th Conference on Interdisciplinary Musicology – CIM14. Berlin, Germany 2014 nature (birds and wind) while the second group listened to theta binaural sound waves. Both groups listened to the stimulus through headphones. During the experiment, participants were monitored with the Neurosky Mindwave Interface, which was connected through Processing to a Max Patch that saved all the data in a ‘.csv’ file. Before the stimulus, a baseline EEG took place and the participants answered the “Trait” part of the STAI test and a pre-experiment “State” version of the test. After the experiment, participants answered a post-experiment “State” STAI and a post-experiment EEG also took place. Each experiment was developed with one participant at a time in a controlled environment. American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct 2002 were followed. 6. MATERIALS • Herman Miller chair • Neurosky Mindwave Interface • Maximum Voltage – 1mV • Maximum radiofrequency Range (Bluetooth) 10m • Maximum transference rate through RF – 250kb/s • Sample rate – 512Hz • Battery cycle – 6-8h • MacBook Pro 7. SOFTWARE • Processing 1.5.1 • Microsoft Excel • Max 6 • Braintocsv V1.5: Application developed in Max 6 by Santiago Rentería, which collates data gathered from the Mindwave interface into a ‘.csv’ file. 8. DOCUMENTS • STAI questionnaire (Annex 2) • STAI “Trait”: Measures anxiety as a temporal state. • STAI “State”: Measures anxiety based on how people feel on a daily basis. • Consent Letter (Annex 3) 9. CONTROL ENVIRONMENT Recording Studio Control Room located at Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus Santa Fe. Fixed temperature at 22ºC and acoustically isolated. 10. STIMULI • Experimental group – Binaural Theta frequencies • Control group – Nature environmental sounds 11. PROCEDURE • The participant is asked to read and sign a consent letter. • A pre-experimental three-minute encephalogram is taken and the participant is required to answer State and Trait STAI tests. • The corresponding stimulus is played during ten minutes and an EEG is taken. • The State STAI test is answered and a post-experiment EEG is taken. 12. VISUAL DATA ANALYSIS The stimuli took place from second 180 to second 774. (Graphs in Annex 1) 12.1 Theta The significant time range was from second 3 to second 948. The most significant moments were the following: (see annex A1.5) s = 189; p = 0.014; t = 1.025 s = 495; p = 0.002; t = -1.923 s = 780; p = 0.001; t = -2.349 12.2 Meditation The significant time range was from second 240 to second 912. The most significant moments were the following: (see annex A1.3) s = 240; p = 0.042; t = .0.685 s = 522; p = 0.013; t = 0.546 s = 702; p = 0.016; t = 0.897 12.3 Delta The significant time range was from second 12 to second 954. The most significant moments were the following: (see annex A1.10) s = 177; p = 0.046; t = 1.696 s = 627; p = 0.016; t = -1.366 s = 912; p = 0.007; t = 1.758 12.4 Attention The significant time range was from second 243 to second 870. The most significant moments were the following: (see annex A1.11) s = 243; p = 0.021; t = 0.672 s = 513; p = 0.005; t = 0.722 s = 753; p = 0.017; t = 0.383 12.5 STAI Variations were found in STAI-State pre-experiment and post-experiment: • Control group results rose from 19 to 21 • Experimental group results decreased from 20 to 15. Variations between both groups were found in the STAI –Trait: • Experimental group with a score of 32 in STAI-T test outran control group by 4 points 13. RESULT ANALYSIS Samples were analyzed every three seconds. They were later statistically distributed according to the T-student test in order to find differences between both groups. For this experiment, the significant p value was p<0.05, this means that the probability is less than 5% T-student detailed analysis: • The meditation value is similar in both groups, (see graph A1.3). T-student function shows less significant points for this parameter. This means both stimuli induced relaxation to the participants. • Theta values are higher in the control group, especially after second 510 (see graph A1.5) almost at the middle of the stimulus. • STAI “State” post-experiment results from the experimental group are higher than the control. Therefore, theta binaural frequencies were more effective as an anxiolytic stimulus. (see graphs A1.1 and A1.2) • Delta values are higher after second 285 in the control group (see graph A1.10). This indicates deep sleep and losing of consciousness over the body (unconscious relaxation). It is highly possible that the participant fell asleep or got to the first stages of sleep. • There is a significant difference in delta between experimental and control groups after second 870 (post-stimulus). Doing almost any routine, repetitive activity (like vacuuming, shredding paper or knitting), or reciting a word that represents how you wish you felt (such as calm) is a quick way to achieve a Zen-like state. Studies show the effects lower blood pressure and slow heart rate and breathing. The crucial elements are to focus on a word, your breathing or a movement and to bring your attention back to your task if your mind wanders or negative thoughts intrude. Or look to your faith for a mantra: A recent study published in the Journal of Advanced Nursing found that repeating phrases with spiritual meanings helped participants cope with a range of problems, from anxiety to insomnia.

As strange as it may sound, vocal toning is a special technique that reduces the stress hormones adrenaline and cortisol. Try sneaking off to a quiet place to spend a few minutes toning before a meeting with your boss and see how much more relaxed and focused you feel. It works by exercising the tiny muscles of the inner ear that help you detect the higher frequencies of human speech that impart emotion and tell you what someone is really trying to say. Not only will you feel more relaxed in that meeting, you’ll also be better able to understand what he’s trying to communicate.
Hi Sahil, it’s hard for me to speak about other people’s tracks and videos, as I don’t know how they created them either. If you’re interested in a particular track/video and unsure about it, try asking the creator a question or two about the track, what frequencies were used and for how long, what software they used etc. Then make your own judgement based on how they reply to you. Meditation enhancement: There are several companies that sell brainwave entrainment sessions specifically designed to enhance meditation. The sounds provide a stimuli to focus on during the meditation, and the brain waves naturally shift towards the frequency provided. Whether meditation is actually enhanced by brainwave entrainment is a subject of debate. However, advanced meditators commonly experience brainwave synchronization – which the right and left hemispheres display the same frequency brain waves. While there are scientific benefits of meditation, it is unclear as to whether they are enhanced, hindered, or unaffected by adjunctive brainwave entrainment.

There's nothing like anxiety to annihilate your sense of humor. It would follow, then, that it's impossible to feel stressed when you're hunched over in a fit of giggles. Studies have shown, in fact, that laughter not only relieves tension, but actually improves immune function. Swap jokes with your friends. Rent a funny movie. Stop taking things so seriously!
“Brainwave entrainment has powerful benefits, that's clear. But most brainwave entrainment CDs tend to be non-specific, across the board. What if you want to achieve one particular state, 'cos that's what you need right now? That's possible with these Brain Salon sessions! You want to chill out, get ideas, go to sleep, feel energized or happy, or get 100% mentally switched-on - just listen to the session and you've got it! You 'get the hang' of these states too, so after enough practice you don't even need the brainwave entrainment CDs to control your own mind. It's worked for me, and I'm sure will do the same for you too.”
